It was a blast! An evening filled with jokes, joy and laugher. Our club hasn’t seen that many guests for a long time! Contestants were very enthusiastic, the audience was very responsive and judges were … judges as they meant to be.
First of all let’s congratulate the winner of humorous speech contest Tham Cin Yee with her excellent and very impressive debut as a contestant! I wish all of us have such a debut! Squeeze up, seasoned speakers new star is raising! Tham Cin Yee cranked up the audience with her “Single ladies’ guide” on how to stay away from ineligible boyfriends. That very logically came after Thomas Wiradikusuma’s instruction for guys on “how to get girls”. It was hilarious speech, Thomas, please keep your eye on the time next time, to avoid disqualification!
The results of Humorous Speech contest:
1st Place Winner - Tham Cin Yee with “Single ladies’ guide”
2nd Place Winner- Chong Sun Fu with “The art of private speaking”
3rd Place Winner- Ivan Cheng with “One Malaysia – a reason to laugh?”
This time all the first prizes went to the same family: Melvin Tham (Cin Yee’s brother – not a secret!) got the first prize at the Evaluation contest. Well done, Melvin, you managed to outrun such experienced Toastmasters as Chong Sun Fu and Ivan Cheng, second and third places respectively.

Contestants of the Speech Evaluation contest: Chong Sun Fu, Ivan Cheng, Melvin Tham, Loh Chuan Seng, and Cherry Teng for their courage and professionalism.
And our honorable guests for joining us and sharing their time and laugh with us. We hope to see you soon again!
