ITC Bintang Kuala Lumpur Toastmasters - The Voice Season #1

ITC Bintang Toastmasters club played organiser and host to our very own version of "The Voice", complete with a panel of VIP celebrity judges, many distinguished guests, an awesome audience and, the highlight of the evening, the contestants!!!

ITC Bintang Toastmasters Club (Kuala Lumpur) The Voice Season #1 competition!

Before the start of the show, we interviewed out contestants to hear what they had to say :

Contestant #1 Alex Chong, TM

The two remarkable emcees kick-started the meeting. They are none other than our very own and very special, Mr Melvin Tham & Ms Pam Lee!

After a warm-up session conducted quickly by our VPE, Benny Chia, the audience, roleplayers, contestants and judges were all energized and ready for a great show.

We welcomed in our Episode #1's celebrity judges:

They are Mariah Chong, Shakira Tham, Grace Mebarak Ripoll. After some light banter, they got into position get ready for the first contestant. 

Despite the large audience present, Toastmasters Alex Chong successfully delivered his Ice Breaker's speech. Bravo!

Look at the amount of focus and determination on his face. No wonder Mariah Chong turned around!

The judges all turned and gave their feedback to Alex.

Next, was contestant number #2, Toastmaster Alvin Sai

Alvin listened to the feedback attentively, because he had to choose which judge he wants to join.

Contestant #4 Safa 

One of the outstanding speech of the night.

All judges were impressed by Safa's "UN speech", full of information and good intentions.

Next, we had Toastmaster Lum Kok Kiong presented his CC#3:

Two judges turned for Kok Kiong.

After a 10 minutes commercial break, our Humor Master of the day, Lum Kok Kiong, delivered a humorous joke. "What happens if the God wanted to end the world?". Everyone was very entertained :D

In 3rd episode, we have one new judge in the panel - Cee Rob Green!

The first lucky contestant was Toastmaster Tammy Tong with her CC#4. She has very good command of language and her delivery was fluent. Let's listen to a snippet...

and give very constructive feedback.  Judges fought hard to win the lovely lady's heart

Next, we have Toastmasters Yeoh Lian See

She painted a vivid picture of pain with her voice and body language for her CC#6, and touched every audience's heart with a personal experience.

Last but definitely not least, we had an advanced contestant who used her voice to tell us all a dramatic story. A story about herself and her family. She is none other than Toastmaster C-AJ who hails from Great Eastern Toastmasters Club.

After the delivery of the Timer Report & Ah Counter reports by two very committed crew members, by Patricia Low and E Son Lee respectively, the night ended with awards presentation  to the Best Juge as well as... THE WINNER OF THE VOICE SEASON #1!

Before the contest ended, ITC Bintang TMC surprised our Immediate-Past-President, Tham Cin Yee, with a birthday cake

To wrap things up, we asked our many guests (from other clubs or completely new to Toastmasters) to provide their comments on our show. We are happy to say that there was much positive and encouraging feedback from the floor.

We showed appreciation for the crews members for their efforst in making the show a success!
