Good times in Saujana Janda Baik with ITC Bintang Toastmasters

Dear Members,

Our ITC Bintang Toastmaster Retreat in Janda Baik happened last weekend 12th – 13th July 2014 as planned. It was a short trip yet the impact on those who participated was remarkable. We had such a great time and got to know about each other as well as about ITC Bintang history a lot better. Hopefully this trip will kick off another exciting year and give new momentum to our Toastmasters Club.

Who?
A group of 6 fun-loving people made it: Robin Yap, Melvin Tham, Alvin Sai, Tammy Tong, Yeoh Lian See, Hop Minh Tran. Heading off at 1pm from KL, we reached Suajana Janda Baik at 3pm and were amazed at the beauty of rural landscape. After checking in and settling some fuss with unexpected friends (by "friends" we mean little mice and frogs J), we were all ready to indulge ourselves in the serenity of the untouched nature.

Did what?
Cycling: A bike ride on Saturday afternoon was first thing we did to explore the area. You wouldn’t believe that we came across a hobbit house hidden behind the main road!

Jungle trekking: One hour trekking into the rainforest started our Sunday morning activities. It was well worth it when we saw the Ulu Tampit Waterfalls at the end of the journey and couldn’t help but plunge into the water for some frolics.

Needless to say playing monopoly and enjoying our own Tammy’s guitar show late at night were the icing on the cake for our unwinding time.

Our own "Taylor Swift" :)
A little side activity in conjunction with the ongoing World Cup 2014, we did a little wager on Brazil vs. Netherlands. The ones who lose the bet would need to wake up early to prepare breakfast. Guess what? Our exemplary team leader Robin volunteered to help out even though he bet on... Brazil!

How about food?
Barbeque: That’s inevitable for sure! Check out the meat galore we had. We did it well, right?J

Hearty breakfast: Pampered by our “mom” Lian See, we had a home-made breakfast prepared nicely on table right after we woke up. Thanks mom! *flying hearts*

High protein lunch: A nutritious meal with fish, prawn, tofu coupled with a durian feast at Kg. Bukit Tinggi was where we said goodbye to Pahang before heading back to KL.

Join us next time or you will miss out a lot of fun!

Cheers,
HT
