Joint Meeting with Gurney Hydro @ 8th Oct 2016
On 8 October 2016, nine of us set out early from KL to Penang. Pam, Tsuey Miin, Alex, Patrine, Eddy, Lian See, Melvin, Gabriel and Amanda. Three separate cars: Eddy's, Melvin's and Tsuey Miin's.
For breakfast, we headed straight for the famous Gai Si Hor Fun (Chicken Noodle) at Thean Chun Restaurant in Ipoh.
We visited the Concubine Street nearby. It is very Taiwanese styled as the street was lined up with interesting stalls.
We arrived at Penang at 1.30pm. We wanted to have our lunch at the famous pork noodle house at Lorong Kampung Malabar but it was closed during that weekend. So we ended up having lunch at Hon Kei Food Corner and most of us had the Penang's famous Char Kuey Tiaw.
Then we headed for the famous Teochew Cendul at Kimberly Street. After dessert, we had a relaxing afternoon walk to the China House Cafe opposite the Chinese Mansion.
The China House Cafe was amazing. The cakes were beautifully huge. We satisfied our taste buds with cake and coffee.
We arrived at our guest house in Gelugor at approximately 5.30pm. We had a rest first, then we headed for the joint meeting with Gurney Hydro Toastmasters Club which is held at the First Penguin Sdn Bhd office 2km from where we stayed.
The joint meeting started at 7,45pm. It was our first ever pyjamas party! The meeting was a huge success with much laughter, fun and camaraderie. We were dressed in pyjamas and we brought pillows.
After the meeting was adjourned, we had supper at Jiao Sai in George Town with our new friends from Gurney Hydro Toastmasters Club.
The next day we checked out at 10am. We had our local breakfast at Super Tanker food court at Bayan Lepas. Some of us went to George Town to buy souvenirs and stopped in Ipoh again for the famous Tau Foo Fah and salted chicken at Lou Wong restaurant before returning to KL.
We enjoyed ourselves during this trip and we eagerly await for ITC Bintang's next outing.
