District 51 L.I.F.E Annual Conference (29th April – 1st May 2016)

It’s time for the annual conference of District 51 again. This 23^rd annual conference is special because it is the last time we meet as one district after which we will be split to District 51 (North to Central Peninsular Malaysia) and District 102 (Central to South Peninsular Malaysia). This time it was held in The Royal Bintang Resort and Spa Seremban. The LIFE Conference agenda is centered around these 4 main pillars:

L = Leadership

I = Improvement

F = Fun/Fellowship

E = Education

Business Session

After 2 days of education and business session, Saturday was the gala night!!! The theme was Roaring 20s which was a time when fashion was redefined and entered a whole new modern era. Flapper dresses, headbands, feathers, fedora and bowler hats dominated the night. Let’s take a look at what the participants wore...

Staying true to the theme of the night, our dearest Benny donned a fedora and next to him is his lovely wife.

The gala night was also a time to recognize the clubs’ achievement as well. Once again ITC was awarded the President’s Distinguished Club. Receiving the award are club members, Benny Chia and Melissa Chew (4th and 5th from left). The award plaque will be presented to our club president, Pam Lee in our following club meeting. 

Finally the most exciting and awaited day of the conference- International Speech & Table Topics Contest. The winner will represent District 51 at the World Championship of Public Speaking 2016. These are our cream of the crop.

Sim Bock San will represent District 51 at the Toastmasters International Annual Conference at Washington DC, USA this coming August 2016 to compete in the semi finals of the World Championship of Public Speaking.
